During the Great Depression in 1938, the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) built an entrance station at the gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This access point to the park served visitors for 30 years until Interstate 94 replaced U.S. Highway 10 in 1968. The official entrance was then moved to Medora. The hand cut stone structures still remain today and are accessible via a 0.4 mile hike.
