When a years old gambling ban was repealled in 1931, along with prohibition in 1933, the small main drag through Las Vegas known as Fremont Street soon became host to a crop of new casinos. The construstion of Hoover Dam along with gaming restrictions in other states, brought more people and growth to
a city that now sees more than 42 million visitors each year.
