Communities like Boston, Ohio, now in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, developed in the early 1800s to support trade along the Ohio & Erie Canal. Railroads and automobiles later brought change to these towns. The Boston Store was first built as a warehouse, and later became a boarding house. In 1946, Marjan Dzerzynski built the M. D. Garage to accommodate an increasing number of travelers to the valley.
