One of the best preserved Allosaurus fragilis skulls in the world was discovered in the Morrison Formation at Dinosaur National Monument, and remains on display in the Quarry Exhibit Hall. Although not the largest predator of the Late Jurassic, the Allosaurus had sharp teeth and hook-shaped claws perfect for making a meal out of smaller prey. Nearly 75% of the meat-eating dinosaurs bones found here were Allosaurus.
